Carolyn has been a psychologist, a paramedic, a proofreader and several other things, not all of them beginning with P. She began writing the day she decided to try and see the world…doing both just to find out if she could. It made a change from teaching CPR to nightclub bouncers and designing wedding cakes.
Carolyn maintains that she is either multi-faceted or easily bored, depending on who is enquiring.
Carolyn decided to continue doing mad things for a living after tasting the Canadian life as a caregiver, running a B&B and then driving 18 wheelers down into the States. There didn’t seem to be much point in growing up and settling down so close to second childhood. So, in between writing and editing books, designing websites and tutoring WordPress she undertakes the occasional whimsical job to look for the funny.
Currently she nips back home to the UK in the summer to work as a pest controller, because there is funny to be found. She goes by the name of Waspwoman and writes the occasional blog post about the vagaries of human nature as they apply to creepy-crawlies and things that buzz. One day there might be a book about that too.
Ben, on the other hand has grown up, graduated in Theatre Studies at York University in Toronto and is carving a career in live theatre, with some writing on the side. You can find Ben at his own fancy website.
When not writing, editing, coding or wasping, Carolyn does enjoy the gentler side of old-ladyhood with a passion for tatting and other handicrafts.
Just for a bit of prettiness among the diesel and grime, here’s some tatting:
